The other night Meredith wanted me to lie down with her at bedtime. We were talking, and she asked me, "Are armies real?" I told her they were. She asked, "What do armies do?" I told her they protect us. She said, "I don't like armies." when I asked why, she said, "They scare me." Upon further pressing to find out why, she said, "They're crazy and they eat people." I assured her that no, they don't eat people and wracked my brain to figure out how she came to that conclusion. She stated, "They eat people on your game." knowing I have no army game, I asked for more details. "They eat people on that game on your phone." I thought for a moment when it dawned me. "you mean Plants vs Zombies?" I asked. She confirmed that that was the very game she was in fact talking about. Geez.

Also, we had Meredith's birthday party today. I'll post a pic of her cake and more details later. When you see the cake, you'll know why I'm too tired to keep writing right now.

Meredith's latest thing: whenever I leave for work or anywhere else, Meredith says bye to me, then yells, "Wait! I have to give you something!" she runs up to me, hugs my leg, then puckers up for a kiss and a nosey.

Natalie's latest thing: As I lie on the bed, Natalie comes up to me with her little blanket and says, "I make you nice and snug, Mommy." she tucks the blanket around me, then kisses me on the forehead and asks, "Mommy, you nice and snug?" She also does this with a life-sized wooden duck at my parents' house, lol!

Today we went to Madisonville for a birthday swim party for my nieces' Audrey and Kendell. However, I forgot to take pictures! Bad mommy!

Also, Ryan and I played in my first golf scramble this morning (at the butt crack of dawn, eck) with a couple of our co-workers, Felicia and Steve. I don't know about them, but I had a blast! We played off some of my shots, which I absolutely didn't expect since my golf clubs haven't been out of the shed in Natalie's lifetime, literally. I managed to sneak a couple pics from that, though.

Felicia and Steve

Ryan and my fat face

Chris and Tim, two other co-workers

I'd call this an action shot but we were waiting on a couple of early morning drunks to quit screwing around and play golf. So this is more of a 'hurry up and wait' shot.

Also, I managed this little gem from this afternoon, and since it's of the kids, this post isn't a complete bust for most of you ;)

OH! Also, I gave Colby a faux hawk, lol! My mother was appalled, but that's what I live for, shock and awe, haha!!

Oh bless.

Ryan (as he looks out the window): "Meredith is outside naked. Is she peeing? She's peeing; she's squatting down. Oh wait! She's pooping! Come look at this! She's pooping! A car just drove by and Meredith is pooping in the front yard. Someone's gonna call DCBS on us."
Me: "Well quit looking out the window and go get her!"
Ryan (leaves, comes back with Natalie): "Now she's wiping with a leaf."

Sheesh!!!!

Today Colby and Meredith had dentist appointments. They still have teeth, so we're winning!

Then Colby, Meredith, and I went to eat pizza, where the kids acted amazing! I was very pleased.

Now the kids are playing with Chinese yo-yos that thy got from the dentist. Joy :-/

Tonight we are taking about what we can praise God for. Colby says, "God did a good job making the earth and outer space. Outer space is the coolest place. And God did a good job with rocket ships. Everything in space in a rocket ship will float around. Except for the buttons." I love that kid, lol! And now he and his father are talking about the difference between elevators and escalators. He sure does know how to change a subject.

And then, his prayer:

C: "Dear God, thank you for the world, and outer space, and the planets, and the stars and the floaty things..."
Meredith: "And stuff,"
C: "...and stuff. In Jesus' name..."
Me: "Thank You for being trustworthy."
C: "Oh yeah, thank You for being trustworthy. In Jesus' name..."
Me: "And help me trustworthy."
C: "I keep forgetting stuff!"
Me: "It's okay, God's still listening. Go ahead."
C: "And help me be trustworthy."
Me: "In Jesus' name..."
C: "In Jesus' name, amen!"

You can't tell me God didn't enjoy that little nugget ;)
